Lesson Plans |
| |
Factors to take into consideration when
planning learning opportunities.
| |
AIMS & OBJECTIVES |
Keep in mind what you are trying to achieve.
An interesting and exciting lesson serves no purpose unless your
students are learning or developing the appropriate knowledge & skills. |
| |
TIME
How long the session lasts - and how much you
can reasonably expect students to achieve. Make the most of the
time but be careful not to include too much.
| |
ROOM
Be mindful of the space in which the lesson
takes place - but do not allow yourself to be restricted by it. (Move
furniture!)
| |
STUDENTS
It is wise to consider how what you plan will
be received by specific individual students.
| |
LEARNING STYLES
Try to include activities that will suit a
variety of learning styles.
| |
DIFFERENTIATION
Consider whether it is appropriate to pitch
some or all of the activities to suit different ability levels.
| |
VARIETY of ACTIVITIES
By including variety within the lesson you
will ensure that you retain interest and increase student engagement.
| |
EQUIPMENT
What equipment will you require to deliver the session - what is
available - and what can you gain access to?
| |
RESOURCES
What else will you require by way of handouts, worksheets, etc.
| |
ASSESSMENT
How will you assess individual student
performance & the overall effectiveness of the session?
