"Part-lesson, part-games-show, part-astonishing!"  This fast-moving, interactive session will keep participants on their toes as they learn, practice and demonstrate a variety of memory techniques.  At the end of the day, pupils (and their teachers!) are invariably astounded by their capacity to learn and recall remarkable amounts of information.  John’s sessions on memory skills are fast being recognised as a means of building pupils’ confidence and self-esteem.

Students have especially appreciated this session in the past when there have been rewards or prizes available.  These could be team-points, vouchers, books, pens, etc.  You might consider whether  this is something you would like to include in the day.

NOTE.  Although some schools have used this session as a last-minute revision-skills session immediately prior to examinations, it is much more effective if delivered at the beginning of a course - so that students can use the techniques throughout the course.  It is also more effective if staff are aware of the techniques (in particular the importance of "key-words") so that they can guide students in their usage.
