Magic Quilt

Write a rhyme.  Pen a poem.

Use your imagination.

Think of a place you would like to go.  It could be somewhere you have been before, perhaps on holiday.  It could be somewhere you have seen on TV or a place you have read about.  Perhaps you have seen some pictures in a book, or on an advert.

What might you see there?

What are the main colours?

What sounds might you hear?

What would  it smell like?

How would it make you feel?

Talk to a friend about your ideas.

Listen to their ideas.

Perhaps you could discuss it in a small group?

Write down words that describe your chosen place.

Write down other words that are “connected”.

Now think of some words that rhyme with what you have written down.

Now try to write a short rhyme (4 lines will be plenty).
