PREPARATION: Print out the coloured grid. (The colours are written in each square in case you do not have a colour printer.) Fold it in half and glue it so that it resembles a (4 x 4) flag with the colours on the front squares matching those on their reverse sides. (Alternatively, you could draw a 4 x 4 grid and colour it on both sides - but make sure you get the colours in the right places.) Fold along all the joins between the coloured squares (or carefully score with a sharp point.)
THE CHALLENGE is to fold the “flag” (along the join lines only) so that the result is a 2 x 2 SQUARE with all the RED squares showing on the same side
Then unfold it and re-fold it into a 2 x 2 square with all the WHITE squares showing on the same side.
Then unfold it and re-fold it into a 2 x 2 square with all the GREEN squares showing on the same side.
Then unfold it and re-fold it into a 2 x 2 square with all the BLUE squares showing on the same side.
