Laura and Tina needed some extra pocket-money so Tina suggested (as it was school holidays) that they could spend a week washing their neighbours' cars. Laura's Mum gave them £3 to buy equipment and they started early on Monday morning.
At first, business was rather slow. Then, on Wednesday, their friend Claire asked if she could join in and they both agreed. Claire was much better at persuading people that their cars needed cleaning so they were soon quite busy.
After a busy morning, it rained on Thursday afternoon, so the girls stayed inside and listened to music.
Friday was another busy day.
On Saturday, Tina could not help because she had to go shopping with her Mum.
On Sunday morning, the girls met together to count how much they had earned. They were pleased to find they had earned £57.
