What is Brainboxx?

Brainboxx is a free-to-access website containing a wealth of information that will be useful to teachers, trainers and all those who are interested in learning and teaching, including parents and children.  As well as clearly-written and well-presented pages about a diverse range of educational issues, you will also find a growing collection of resource materials.  It is intended that Brainboxx becomes a first-point-of-call for anyone seeking to find out about the theory and practice of innovative learning & teaching.

Introduction to Honey & Mumford's Learning Styles model - descriptions of each style - application of the theory and implications.  Learning Styles questionnaires.
Thinking Skills. Accelerated learning.  VAK.  Gifted & Talented kids.  Gender and learning styles.  Memory techniques.  Revision skills.  Release your child's potential.

Who is it for?

Brainboxx is intended primarily for primary and secondary school teachers, particularly (but not necessarily) those in UK schools, but will also be of interest to trainers.  There are sections that will be of interest to parents and all those who have responsibility for nurturing children.  Some sections are specifically intended to be accessed by children, usually (but not necessarily) under the direction of a teacher.  The entire site is written in a way that makes it easy to read and understand.

Pithy (and occasionally witty) sketches for use by small drama groups to communicate important messages.  Suitable for school assemblies.
Details of publications (and other products) written and developed by the author of this site.
A comprehensive menu of training sessions and classroom workshops - suitable for inclusion in school INSET programmes, or as standalone events.

Who produces Brainboxx?

Brainboxx is designed and written by John Fewings, an inspirational Teaching & Learning trainer & consultant with over 30 years successful experience as a teacher and trainer.  Many of the resources on the site have been developed  in response to specific needs expressed by John's fellow professionals - and much of the site's contents reflect John's enthusiastic and creative approach to making learning exciting, rewarding and fun.  John is Managing Director of Brainboxx Training
